Confessions of a Real Estate Agent
A PEEK FROM THE INSIDE
I think it's important for my clients to have a thorough knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes. I want to share with you a bit about what goes on in my world.
Realtors are like snowflakes; they are all different. Each one has a unique personality, unique skills to bring to the table, and different levels of enthusiasm and energy.
I've been in sales a long time. It was two years ago that I discovered my passion - real estate. I love pretty much everything about it. I love helping my sellers reach their goals, and I love helping home buyers find the home that best suits their needs....and sometimes even the home of their dreams. I'm obsessed with my career, and that means I am never satisfied with where I am. I am always looking for ways to move things forward, and do things better. For example, I am attending a marketing conference in San Diego later this month. I am so excited about all the new marketing techniques and info. I will get to bring back and apply to this business, which will directly benefit my sellers.
I'm fortunate that I have many skills to bring to the table that have really moved my business forward, and helped so many sellers and buyers over the last two years. In addition to skills, I utilize premier marketing services/tools such as professional photos, aerial video, and many more to obtain an advantage over competing listings. Even still, it can be a challenge, especially in smaller areas like Calhoun County.
Being a Realtor requires an overwhelming amount of work that requires countless hours of attention, yet I still love it. In addition to my normal Realtor duties, being a Real Estate Marketer adds on even more hours. Most of the time, I feel unable to make plans with my family, because I want to be available when the phone rings, or a text comes in.
My social media ads are running constantly, therefore, my marketing system is always working behind the scenes for my sellers.
If inquiries come in via text or Facebook message at 9 p.m, 10 p.m., midnight, as long as I am up I answer them.
When I go on mission trips and vacations (wait, have I had a real vacation in two years?), I work everyday. Answering emails and texts from buyers. Scheduling inspections, and finalizing things for closings. Work still goes on.
I am a real estate selling machine, and as my knowledge and experience grow I see different things I can tweak to be more effective. That being said, I am currently working on some plans that will help me have more time for my sellers. More time to talk. More time to discuss. More time to listen. I love the relationship part of this job, but the demanding schedule, phone calls, text messages, emails, and other duties leave little time for it. I'm determined to find a way, and I believe I have.
I'm excited about 2018, and all it has to offer. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the privilege of helping you reach your real estate goals. I look forward to working with you this year to get your home SOLD.
